Northumbria Events - Whats going on this weekend

The Great North Run is on Sunday 16th September, starts at 09:30 and offers a 5km as well as a 13.1mile run. People compete for various reasons, one of which is to raise money for charities.

It starts in Newcastle, taking in the iconic Tyne Bridge, through Gateshead passing the famous international athletics stadium and finishes in the coastal town of South Shields. There will be live music, on course refreshment and of course all the supporters lining the route, which should help keep the runners motivated.

If you are interested in watching or taking part you may still be looking for accommodation, try our website for late availability in the Northumbria area.

Kendal Events weekend 15/16th September

Jennings River Ride and Family Fun Day takes place this Sunday 16th September in Keswick.

Offering 3 choices of bike rides there is a family challenge, middle distance or big day out ride. You can take part now matter how fit you are, if you have a bike and want to spend time with your family taking in some of the fine Lake District scenery, this event is for you.

It’s called the Rivers Ride because sections of the routes follow the affected river courses and criss-cross over many of the bridges that were either destroyed and replaced, or were badly damaged during the floods in 2009.

If you are not really into cycling there is plenty to do with the family in Fitz Park, with the fun day events. In the park there will be a large marquee with entertainment, food and drinks and a wide array of family-friendly games and things to do.

Use our Keswick landing page to find some accommodation for this weekend.

Launch of our South Lakes Landing Page

Well it's that time again where we present you with another entry page for the South Lakes area of the Lake District. We have designed and launched this landing page to help you find some interesting gems of cottages or lodges in this area of the Lakes. Covering the area from the Lancashire border up the eastern side of Cumbria to Kendal. This is a large area covered and offers many diverse opportunities during your holiday. Ranging from the South Lakes Zoo to mountain biking, steam train, shopping, walking and the highest peak in the Lake District, Scafell. Do you think you could take on Scafell, if so you will need to find accommodation near this fell so you can get an early start, as this is a very long, extremely challenging hike. Certainly not for the faint hearted.

Perhaps you would like to be nearer the coastline or seek seclusion for your break away from the mania of society. The format and layout is similar to all our other landing pages, keeping it nicely conformed and easier for you to navigate through these pages to find exactly what you require in less time, giving you more time to dream of your holiday, rather than fretting over whether you can find something.

You can find our South Lake District Cottages landing page by clicking on the highlighted text. Pass the webpage onto your friends and family as you never know when it may come in handy. +1 this post at the bottom of the screen or alternatively like us on our facebook page or tweet us. Our aim is to help you find the right cottage at the right price in the right area.

Have you started planning for Autumn and what about Christmas or the New Year, we will post some great places in the next few days so you don't miss out on these opportunities. Bookings are coming in fast for these dates.

BUSY, BUSY WEEK

The Bank Holiday weekend has come and gone, did you manage to get one of the listed items done during the weekend?

  1. Some rest and relaxation,
  2. Visited the family or
  3. Finished those DIY jobs that have been hanging over your head.
Monday was not the best day weather wise and saw it rain all day and night, almost monsoon conditions, Tuesday saw the sun out and temperatures soar and today pretty much like yesterday. The sun is shining on our guests that braved the weather on Monday and it is now paying off for the rest of the week!!

This whole week since mid last week has been extremely busy in all our offices with people urgently looking for accomodation for short breaks and the week. Thank you to everyone and especially the collegues that worked over the Bank Holiday.

Well done.
