We have just received a very witty but excellent review by Deux Messieur!! Whom, like all of our holiday makers that have stayed at the Boathouse, loved their stay at the Duke of Portland Boathouse in Ullswater.
The Duke of Portland Boathouse has been voted the best waterside retreat by BBC Country file magazine and its location at the top of Lake Ullswater gives it superb un-paralleled views.
It is one of the most iconic and most photographed and painted buildings in the Lake District, it originally belonged to the 3rd Duke of Portland in the 18th Century.

These 3 snow leopard cubs joined in the festive spirit when a real Christmas tree was placed in the home. Although only 6 months old, they appear to be very curious about this addition to the foliage in their surroundings.
Mum Irina was the first to make sure it was safe, the cubs only investigated later in the afternoon. The 3 cubs names are Kitana, Kamala and Kadhir (they were named by public vote from 1,400 submitted names).
